These tools don't need to be big — bite-size is almost always better. We're not building shiny things. We're building work tech that people open, review or take action, then close and ideally never think about again. The more our systems can do in the background without requiring someone's time and attention, the better. I'm more concerned with beautiful *process* than beautiful screens. ## Services — I work in months We'll switch between Build and Maintenance as needed. ### Build Months — starting at $5,000/mo These are "we're building and/or rolling out new stuff" months. Includes strategy + planning sessions, all development work, build progress meetings, training & feedback sessions with your team, system testing, and documentation. Also includes everything from Maintenance. ### Maintenance Months — starting at $2,500/mo These are "keep the lights on and coast" months. Includes proactive system monitoring, updates & patches, support requests, strategy + planning sessions, and prep work for upcoming Build months. ### Month-to-Month or Quarter-to-Quarter I intend to stick around as your long-term partner, but not because you're trapped in a contract. Default agreement and billing schedule is month-to-month. Commit to quarterly for a **10% discount**. ## About Tyler Berggren Tyler Berggren — Fractional Software + Systems Guy — Reinstall Work. Greater Chicago Area. I build high-tech software + systems for low-tech companies. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, I started a home cleaning business with my wife out of our garage. She cleaned people's houses, and I did everything else, including mixing cleaning solutions at our kitchen sink. Over the course of 5 years, we scaled to 25 W2 employees, 300 recurring customers, and $1m annual revenue, with me still doing everything that wasn't cleaning — branding, website, ads, sales, estimating, scheduling, customer support, billing, payroll, recruiting, training, etc. — and I managed it all on a homegrown tech stack that I stitched together over 5 years of trial, error, and lots of tinkering (all before AI could help). After selling the cleaning co, I transitioned into consulting at an agency. Now I could take the system design principles I had built for my little company and apply them at big Fortune 500 companies. You'd be surprised how similar a 25-person company and 25,000-person company look at the systems level (just a lot more rows). In 2025, I used Claude Code for the first time and my world changed in an instant. Suddenly I could build anything *from scratch*. I was no longer limited to cobbling together off-the-shelf tools. And I could build systems with *agents* in them — automated processes that could think dynamically and solve more than just the 1 or 2 problems they were originally designed for. As I got deeper into AI, I had an epiphany — this high-tech AI stuff can actually have the biggest impact at *low-tech* companies — places where there isn't an IT guy and everything still happens in spreadsheets, email, or paper (*shudders*). AI coding tools let us build custom systems fast (and cheap), and automate things that used to require somebody logging in and clicking around on a screen that they didn't want to learn. Now, we can basically flip a switch and incredibly smart systems just start running in the background. Low-tech companies can stay focused on the real work (the stuff that AI won't be able to replace), while smart tech keeps the whole operation humming behind the scenes. Sadly, there are a lot of snake oil salesmen peddling "AI operating systems" to companies. They have no idea how the technology works and absolutely no idea how to apply it inside a real-world business. It's a disaster waiting to happen. I aim to be the opposite. I know the technology, but more importantly, I'm going to learn everything about how your business operates — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Then we'll work together to sketch out bite-sized improvements that make work smoother for everybody, without anyone having to learn a new app or become an AI expert. Work tech that *just works*. ## Questions I get asked ### Do you use/do AI? Yes. I use AI coding tools to build custom software, systems, and integrations faster than manual code. I also build custom AI agents that can do all sorts of things for your business in the background. ### Can we keep our old systems? Yes. If you have existing systems that work, we'll build around them. How deeply we can integrate new pieces with the old will vary, but I'll walk you through all the options. ### Is everything you build custom? It depends. There is plenty of great off-the-shelf software out there that we can use to build for your company. We also have AI coding tools that can build pretty much anything really fast for very little cost. A big part of my value is helping guide you through the choice of when to go with an already-available product vs. rolling-our-own. ### Who owns the code? You. If you decide to stop working with me, I hand over all code and accounts to you. ### Can we start/stop service any time? Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. Every start/stop cycle kills all momentum in the work we're doing together, and I have limited capacity, so there's a chance we might not be able to start back up when you're ready. Our agreement will either be month-to-month or quarter-to-quarter, whichever you choose. If you choose not to renew, services stop, I hand over code and accounts, and you're on your own. **I do not offer any support without an active monthly or quarterly service agreement**. After stopping service, if you come back to restart, there's a mandatory restart fee equal to 1 Maintenance Month before we resume. This covers the work of me taking back all code and accounts from you in order to restart service. ### Do you have a team? Nope. For right now, it's just me. ### Do you come onsite? Yes, and I enjoy doing it. I aim for 1 onsite working session per quarter with every client. It's nice to work with people without a computer in between. ## Contact Let's talk about your tech.
